Happy Halloween

Picture 7
(click to watch. You’ve been warned)

I hate spiders. In a conscious effort to confront my fears, I film them. This was shot under the Market Street bridge (aka eight legged paradise). In the spirit of creepy Halloweeny, I put together a few clips with some spooky music. This was shot on Red. If you look close, you can see individual hairs on the spider’s legs. If you don’t like spiders, this footage is not for you.

Behind the Scenes

Girls Club - Behind the Scenes from Jesse Rosten on Vimeo

For those of you who think we work with a big crew, here is evidence to the contrary. In fact, I think this was the biggest crew we’ve ever had. Choreographer, makeup artist (x2), PA, and Agency were all present. New topic: I’m experimenting with video hosting from Vimeo. Let me know what you think and if you prefer simple quicktimes.

Motorcycle

Many, many months ago, I shot some test footage of Dad riding his motorcycle. Finally got around to pulling the footage together - just for fun. Enjoy.

Darkroom

enlarg
It’s time to get back to basics, people. Darkroom class. Shasta College. Spring Semester. I challenge you to say “no” to digtial. Forget pixels, histograms, Photoshop, and unsharp masks. Let’s get back to making photos that can stand on their own - straight out of the camera. It’s about composition, my friends. Consider this an open invitation to join us next spring (because we thought of this grand idea too late to sign up for fall) in the darkroom class at SC. I don’t have details yet, but I heard from an inside source that it’s Monday and Wednesday nights. Even if you have darkroom experience already (if you were born after 1980 then you probably don’t) you can stil audit the class and hang out with yours trulies. Comment if you want in and I will get you details as they become available. Ciao for now.
