Testing some more lighting for product shots. Got a little excited on the last take.

Behind the Scenes

Through the power of the Internets, I've received a few inquiries as to how I got the "timelapse" look in the Myriad video. I shall explain. It's quite simple really. The normal framerate for this type of camera is 24 frames per second (fps). We shot at 9 fps. (We being me, and my huge video crew of Lyn, Will, and sometimes Josh) Shooting at 9 fps created that funky Keystone Cop/ Charlie Chaplain kind of feel to the motion. "But wouldn't shooting at 9fps mean the video would be three times as fast" you ask? Well, that's the correct assumption, but you are forgetting one thing... I'm not left-handed. No, that's not it. The real trick is that the musicians also performed the song 3x slower than normal. If I wasn't so busy at the time, I might have thought it a little comical seeing the band jump around in slow motion - "Yoooooooouuuuuuu waaaaaaaaaasssssstttteeeeee tttiiiiiimmmmmeeeee......" Big thanks to The Myriad for the opportunity to work with them. Let's do it again!
